C.A.R.E.
Welcome to Alameda C.A.R.E. ~ Community Alliance Resource for Education. C.A.R.E is a grassroots group formed of community members advocating for inclusive safe school environments. C.A.R.E is supporting the adoption and implementation of the AUSD safe schools curriculum.
We want to acknowledge that most of us have very strong feelings about this issue for our children and our schools. Therefore we created a Yahoo Group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Yes_on_care/
for support. At the same time, we want this Yahoo group to be as constructive and useful as possible. To that end, we suggest the group focus on the following general goals:
-Open dialogue on the process of passing and implementing this curriculum
-Sharing of various tools, including sample letters, talking points for community and neighborhood discussions, contact information, discussion topics for meetings, ideas for outreach and community building, etc.
-Making announcements and providing updates
-Other relevant topics as they arise
We hope that the tone of this group can model positive and open communication. Thank you for your participation and willingness to help with this important effort. We look forward to your participation.
